A question for people with Vectrexes. In the game Mine Storm, the one that comes built-in, there are thirteen fields described in the instructions. I never thought I'd be able to, but I got past the thirteenth finally. When I did, some strange things happened. For one, the game skipped field fourteen completely and went straight to fifteen. Fifteen and sixteen had the strange space dust barely mentioned in the instruction booklet. After sixteen, when I was at my record high score, it went back to field one! This wouldn't be that unexpected, but my score was also reset to zero, and I was back to my starting quota of ships. It did save my score from field sixteen as the high score but I basically had just started a new game. Is this how it is supposed to work? If so, why no big fanfare after making it to the end? Why does it skip fourteen? Has anyone else gotten this far? For the answers to these and other exciting questions, mail to: Ed Pawlak ihnp4!ihuxn!ewp

If I remember right, [1] level 14 wasn't there, [2] enemy ships were frequently invisible/random vector patterns/dots/combinations thereof, [3] point totals started increasing faster (I think target values increased by some constant factor with each level). Anyway, I saw him play a game up through something like level 35 one evening, and things got pretty strange. There was another level (30, or something like that) that was also missing.
