I have recently seen a number of advertisments for Atari 2600 cassettes. The first time I encountered these was while watching "Video Singles", a production out of Toronto that tries to be "The Music Channel - MTV" using a higher than average Canadian Content. (By the way, it works and you get to see some incredible avant-garde video singles.) The second time was during Good Morning America. Some of the ads are better-than-average media hype. (The Galaxians ad is really good - let's hear it for Quid, "a credit to his cassette"). But there are some really far out ads. Particularly the Centipede II ad. Starts with a shot of a row of legs&feet upside down at the bottom of the screen. The feet are all wearing blue&white striped socks. The camera pans back to a shot of someone pushing a dolly of dummy's feet. Suddenly a pincer taps him on the shoulder and ... Let's hear it for Atari! Good games, but great ads!!! P.S. Any hints about the first Swords cassette would be appreciated. I have been to each of the Zodiac rooms and still haven't gotten past the first (give-away) level!!! -- Stephen Perelgut Computer Systems Research Group University of Toronto Usenet: {linus, ihnp4, allegra, decvax, floyd}!utcsrgv!perelgut ARPA: utcsrgv!perelgut@UW-BEAVER
