[net.games.video] Gyruss

hatfull@ukecc.UUCP (keith hatfall) (12/17/85)

I have, in the past few months, become addicted to the seemingly
ancient game of Gyruss. I seem to have become pretty good, I can
usually triple or quadruple the high score on any given machine
here in the Lexington area. My question is, what are some of the
high scores in other places...I'm just curious to know what some
other people are scoring...or if anyone else even plays the game.
My high score is 701,400...stage 58 (playing time 75 minutes).
The only other score here that I haven't done that comes close
is app. 375,000. If anyone knows of a score higher or close to
mine...please reply...I'm anxious to know.

Thanks in advance,

Keith Hatfull

Indeed, 701,400 is most impressive. I hope you arn't distressed to learn
that I have reached stage 87 with a score of 1,604,200. I have found that most
people who play the Galaga Clones also played the orignal Galaga. Is this true
for you as well. If so, what was your score. In 1982 I peaked at 3.2 millon.
Then the laser disk games game out and I devoted my quarters to these. I would
like to hear of anyone who has beaten this Galaga score. I know someone has...

Oh yeah, Have you played Galaga 2 yet. I can't even get past stage 3 on
that game. Bally/Midway was most cruel in releasing that "killer" version.

These games are *not* Galaga clones. They are all Galaxian clones.
