[net.lang.pascal] Request for information on Berkeley Pascal

     Has anyone modified the Berkeley Pascal compiler to add the built-in
procedure SEEK as exists in, say, UCSD Pascal?  I find it difficult to deal
with random access files of varying file types as it stands now (having to
write a separate seek routine for each type of file and not knowing the
internal structure of a FILE variable in Berkeley Pascal make it a royal pain,
one for which I do not have the time).

P.S. We are running 4.2BSD - the compiler seems different than 4.1BSD, though
neither have the SEEK that I want.      -Rick
