[net.lang.pascal] net.lang.pascal for ARPA?

mush@dsd.UUCP (04/10/84)

Some folks at ARPA are thinking of starting a Pascal list. I think
it would make more sense to connect them to net.lang.pascal. Here's
one reply to me in responce to my sugesting just that.

I don't know who runs net.lang.pascal, but who ever you are, is it
possible?

Unlike the ARPAnet, nobody "runs" net.lang.pascal.

For it to gateway to the ARPAnet, a volunteer at some site
which is on both USENET and ARPAnet must arranged to gateway
the USENET stuff into ARPAland. There are some ARPA restrictions
on exactly how this works, but I assure you there are LOTS of
newsgroups for which it works. See both the ARPA List-of-Lists
and the USENET "list of active newsgroups", both posted monthly
(or so) in net.news.groups.

Since we're not an ARPA site, I don't know for sure how it works.
I suggest that an ARPA volunteer contact one of the other ARPA
list maintainers for help.
