I am interested in what people think of the introductory Pascal texts on the market. I am in the process of revising my book, "A First Course in Computer Programming Using Pascal" (McGraw-Hill, 1982). This book has been quite successful and has been translated into Spanish, Italian, and French. If you have pet peeves about introductory Pascal books, or suggestions about them in general, I am most interested in hearing them. (Please send replies directly to ark@ut-sally.UUCP directly or to {gatech,harvard,ihnp4,pyramid,seismo}!ut-sally!ark to avoid unnecessary postings to net mailing lists.) Anyone teaching introductory Pascal who would like a complimentary copy of the second edition when it becomes available may send me your name, affiliation including mailing address, estimated annual enrollment, and name of current text. This is your chance to actually influence a textbook you will be able to use. Thank you for your interest and cooperation. My apologies in advance to uninterested individuals whose time I have used.
