[net.lang.pascal] Comments on comments

I've already gotten some mail about my software and hardware queries,
and I appreciate them greatly. However, I think that I should clarify
a thing or two that I might have been vague about.

1: I am both a programmer-type person and a writer-type person, so
good programming AND writing tools are important to me.

2: I am also a cheap-type person, and want to buy as little software
as possible, and then, only if it is good. I believe in the power of
public-domain software, and feel that since there is a lot of good PD
stuff out there, why buy more than I have to?

3: What I had intended to do is get myself a language and the source
to an editor, then mess around with them to my heart's content. One
person has suggested micro-emacs, and I would like to find out what
language the source is in, and if it truly PD (PC-Write is NOT
public-domain, but as a $75 registered user I can get the
Pascal/assembly source. I'd sooner get the WordStar compatible Turbo
Editor Toolbox for less $$).

4: OKAY! OKAY!! I'LL FORGET THE BASIC!! Sheesh - sorry I mentioned
it. Looks like there aren't too many BASIC (Microsoft's, that is)
fans out there.

5: Since I am a writer-type person, AND a technology-type person (any
more, Dave?), I am extremely interested in Turbo Lightning, both for
what it offers now and for what it can offer, at such a low price. I
had a feeling that everything else would run on the Z (quite
compatible), but I am a bit nervous about Lightning running on it, and
that is my main compatibility concern.

Keep those comments coming in - this is really a help.
