To those who may be curious: I finally received my copy of MetaCompco PASCAL for the Atari ST series. It was written by the folks who brought us Lattice C. I purchased it through Antic Publishing, and, after a series of wierd experiences with them, it finally arrived in the mail. Opinion? I like it quite a bit. It is a full ANSI PASCAL implementation and then some. It does *not* seem to have the limitations that OSS Personal PASCAL is said to have. Also, it has full access to the VDI and AES libraries. (As a matter of fact, the calls seem to be directly taken from the Lattice C VDI and AES calls. That's fine with me since I can use the ABACUS books to describe the calls in detail.) It comes with the MetaCompco full screen editor, which - although it is no EMACS or VI - is quite useful. It also comes with the MetaCompco linker, which is a full function linker that allows you to do all sorts of magical things. The PASCAL compiler also has a switch to allow you to create an object code that can be linked to object codes created with the C that comes with the Developer's kit. All in all, it is a very nice package that allows you to do some impressive things. And, of course, the price is right at $79.00. -- --- Rob DeMillo Madison Academic Computer Center ...seismo!uwvax!uwmacc!demillo "If you can't trust wimp lawyers anymore, who can you trust...?" -- Mildred Krebs
