MCI next Tuesday is expected to introduce an electronic mail service allowing customers to send messages written on their computers or word processors. The messages either could be deliv- ered over MCI communications lines to other com- puters or be printed out and delivered through mail or by courier. They wanted to know if I was interested in personal or business use (I told them both). They claim I should have some literature in the mail within a week. kurt

These are the most interesting features. MCI Mail provides electronic origination of mail from a terminal (personal computer, word processor, etc). They offer 4 delivery options, 4 hour hand delivery ($25), noon next day ($6), US Mail ($2), or users electronic MCI mailbox ($1). This is for the first 7500 characters-- additional are $1 per 7500 characters. They claim this is the only charge-- no connect time, no monthly service fee.
