I'm trying to get to an IBM 434x site on BITNET from a 4.1bsd Vax with csnet/arpanet connections. Could someone give me details or explain BITNET protocols? What exactly *is* BITNET anyway? Bitnet is a popular net used, in the past, to link University (and some non-university) IBM mainframes together. Fortunately, in the past few months, BITNET software has become available for both unix and vms! In fact, both the unix and vms emulations were developed here at PSU.
