Earlier this week I pleaded for relief from the flood of "Failed Mail"
messages I have been getting about a message that was apparently sent
out by the news software on my behalf. At that time I had received 47
identical messages. The total is now 206 -- that's an average of 41 per
day over the period of the flood.
**** PLEASE COULD SOMEBODY TURN OFF THE TAP ******
I don't know where the source of this message is. Internally, uw-beaver
seems to be at the end of the To: From: lines, so I mailed uw-beaver!root
when it started happening. But "Mail" receives the message, it tells me
that it comes from mmdf@rand-relay.
I'm not going to repeat the content of this message again. It's in my
earlier plea.
If somebody does manage to turn off the tap, please would they post to the
net some information as to what happened, so that anyone else that gets
flooded with such nonsense can have an idea what to do!
