wcwells@ucbopal.CC.Berkeley.ARPA (12/13/83)
I forwarded the articles concerning the recent flood of "Failed Mail" messages to the sites concerned (ucbvax, tektronix, and Rand-Relay) and received the following reply. Date: Tuesday, 13 Dec 1983 09:42-PST From: obrien@rand-unix To: wcwells@ucbopal (William C. Wells) Cc: postmaster@RAND-RELAY, decvax!ihnp4!hogpc!rwp@rand-unix, postmaster@BERKELEY, azure!stevesu.tektronix@RAND-RELAY Subject: Re: "Failed Mail" Messages It turns out that the problem appears to have been at Tektronix. The new liaison there found a bad address in their queue file which, when corrected, seems to have stopped the flood. Bill Wells ucbvax!wcwells PS. All Internet mail sites (ARPANET, MILNET, etc.) have a "postmaster" mail box to which mail problems can be reported directly.
