I have a (very non-robust) mail server running, and I want to test it out. Unfortunately, the host it's running on (Sloan.MIT.EDU, aka 18.86.0.4) is not in any host table, (aside from the tables on MIT's name server) and the domain code isn't all working here at harvard. I've tried the server out a few times using telnet, and it seems to (more or less) work fine, but it's only gotten a few messages from a real server, so I'm not sure what parts only kind of work and should be changed, etc... Therefore, I'm turning to the net. If you know of some service that will test SMTP servers, please let me know. Also, if you have working domain code, please mail me something so I can see if the server is going to be able to handle real traffic. The address you should try is kevin@Sloan.MIT.EDU, or kevin@[18.86.0.4], if your mailer will take this (mine won't, too bad). -- Kevin Crowston UUCP: {seismo,ut-sally}!harvard!kevin MIT Sloan School of Management ARPA: kevin@harvard.ARPA
