I saw an article in one of the mod groups forwarded from ARPANET that originated at the mailbox "intermail@usc-isif" with an identification showing a name and an MCI-MAIL ID. Does USC-ISIF operate a gateway between MCI MAIL and the Internet and/or UUCP? If so, is it available to others or just ISI staff and programmatic sponsors. Any info appreciated, as we have been looking into such a service for our own users. Michael C. Berch ARPA: mcb@lll-tis-b.ARPA UUCP: {akgua,allegra,cbosgd,decwrl,dual,ihnp4,sun}!idi!styx!mcb

Yes, there is an experimental gateway between the ARPANET and MCI mail. However, since it is only offered on an experimental basis, and is only intended for official DDN business (as is all ARPANET mail), I don't think that it is appropriate to publish information on its use to USENET. ARPANET users may obtain instructions by getting the file /info/adr-9 via anonymous FTP from site CSNET-SH.ARPA.
