It's fair to turn HOST.UUCP into > host.uucp for UUCP, but what about the USER part? I suggest a heuristic method in use on unido.uucp alias unido.bitnet for a fewe months now: Map localparts and domains to lowercase if they contain NO lowercase characters. This is like getty does determines wether to set LCASE. We can't do without this heuristic because the native Bitnet addresses are uppercase only. Hence nobody could send users on unido itself any mail using native addressing using what they call tags. Facit: Not a nice solution, but it works and breaks nothing. -Daniel Karrenberg <dfk@unido.uucp, dfk@unido.bitnet> PS: Please don't use our gateway for mail to/from uucp-sites outside europe. We have to pay the bills !
