[net.mail] How to get to CDNnet

		UUCP-CDNnet Network Gateway Announcement

There are now three official gateways between CDNnet and UUCPnet. CDNnet
is the Canadian Research Network, an X.400 based network using the EAN
software developed at the University of British Columbia. The gateway
sites are:

UUCP host name CDN MTA name
	-------------- ------------
	garfield garfield.mun
	ubc-vision vision.ubc
	watmath math.waterloo

All three sites are "smart" uucp sites. This means that they understand
uucp domain addresses, as well as the domain!user syntax. Thus you can
get mail to a CDNnet user with the address

joe@bar.foo.cdn

by mailing to

gateway!bar.foo.cdn!joe

where gateway is one of {garfield, ubc-vision, watmath}. Note that all
CDNnet addresses are of the form

user@MTAname.cdn

CDNnet users can address uucp users using domain syntax (e.g. joe@foovax.uucp).

The gateway administators are

John Demco	<demco@ean.ubc.cdn>
Andrew Draskoy	<andrew@sydney.cdn>
Dave Janes	<dave@garfield.mun.cdn>
Ken LaLonde	<ean@math.waterloo.cdn>
Frank Pronk	<pronk@vision.ubc.cdn>

They can be reached through gateway-admin@garfield.mun.cdn or
garfield!gateway-admin

For those with no pathalias databases, here is some basic uucp connectivity
information to help get messages to the gateway sites:

{utcsri, utzoo, decvax, allegra, ihnp4, clyde, tektronix, linus}!watmath
{utcsri, alberta, sun, uw-beaver}!ubc-vision
{utcsri, mcvax, akgua, allegra, astrovax, bellcore, cbosgd, clyde,
	ihnp4, masscomp, philabs, princeton, psuvax1, seismo}!garfield
