[net.mail] addressing change for DEC ENET

johnsson@decwrl.UUCP (04/19/86)

Some time in the next week or two the return addresses on mail sent from the
DEC internal network (ENET) into uucp-land will change. It is our intent
that all previously acceptable forms of address will continue to work on
incoming mail. The main thrust of the change is to begin using our official
domain names (xxx.dec.com) for ENET mail.

The new addresses will look like

	decwrl!host.dec.com!user

instead of

	decwrl!dec-rhea!dec-host!user

Please report any problems with the new addresses to decwrl!postmaster.

Internet sites using the domain servers may send ENET mail directly to

	user@host.dec.com

but in deference to sites still using the host table, outgoing internet mail
will continue to use relay addresses through decwrl.dec.com.
