Here at Tech, we've got a number of 4.2BSD machines running Sendmail. We also have a couple of System V 3B20s that we'd like to integrate with the other machines just a little more than they are now (/bin/mail and uucp just isn't cutting it). In particular, one of the 3B20s is currently a BITNET site in addition to it's UUCP connections and will probably eventually be a gateway. We've got MMDF(II) that we're currently installing but we'd really prefer to use Sendmail since that's what all our other machines run. Now I've heard that people have gotten Sendmail running under System V. Can anyone tell me where I can get more information on SysV Sendmail? Oh, yeah... I really don't want to start any religous wars about the various advantages/disadvantages MMDF and Sendmail have over each other so please show some control. The reasons why we want to use Sendmail is because that we've got that already up and running on a number of machines already (site "gatech" comes to mind), it integrates with current existing user interface programs (/bin/mail, Berkeley's Mail) a lot more cleanly than MMDF, and that it's a lot smaller (we also want to get a bunch of 3B2s online, at least locally, and they've only got 2Meg of swapped memory). robert -- Robert Viduya 01111000 Office of Computing Services Georgia Institute of Technology UUCP: ..gatech!gitpyr!robert BITNET: CC100RV @ GITVM1
