Well I give up. We installed the gatech smartmailer a while back, which requires changes to sendmail.cf. I'm pretty sure that something we did then caused the following problem: When I recieve mail via uucp from a foriegn site, the To: line gets screwed up. My machine is called datacube, I'm recieving mail from mirror. (This problem happens with all outside sites, the example is with mirror) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From rs@mirror.UUCP Tue Jul 15 22:29:46 1986 Received: by datacube.datacube (4.12/6.1.DATACUBE) id AA10505; Tue, 15 Jul 86 22:29:44 edt Received-Date: Tue, 15 Jul 86 22:29:44 edt Received: by mirror.UUCP (4.12/4.7) id AA07847; Tue, 15 Jul 86 16:29:28 edt Date: Tue, 15 Jul 86 16:29:28 edt From: rs@mirror.UUCP (Rich Salz) Message-Id: <8607152029.AA07847@mirror.UUCP> To: berger@mirror.UUCP ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Subject: Re: Notes are working and Test Status: R ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Of course when I reply to this mail, the reply goes to rs@mirror.UUCP AND berger@mirror.UUCP. I've poked around sendmail.cf, but cannot understand it enough to clearly see what section would deal with this. Can anyone give me a pointer as what might be causing this? By the way, is sendmail still the latest and greatest way to do mail on Unix? Is there a compiler or some human interface yet for sendmail.cf? This has to be one of the most cryptic things I've ever seen in unix! Bob Berger Datacube Inc. 4 Dearborn Rd.
