Re the requests concerning the Sinclair printer for the ZX-81: Gladstone Electronics, 1585 Kenmore Ave., Buffalo, NY 14217, carries this device in their latest catalog. Their telephone number is 1-800-833-8400. The ad states that this printer offers full alpha-numerics in addition to the Sinclair graphics characters. Printing speed is 50 characters per second with 32 characters per line and 9 lines per vertical inch. Unit comes with a roll of paper 65 feet long by 4 inches wide. Replacement paper cost is not specified but I understand it is quite expensive. The cost of the basic printer is $99.95. The same catalog also lists a ZX99 control system for the ZX-81 which features a printer interface ( RS232 ). A full size typewriter style keyboard and case are also advertised for those rare individuals who absolutely detest the minuscule keyboard. Most of us know the keyboard is the real challange of the zx-81. Programming isnt really an effort unless you occasionally drop a few choice characters. Bill Stottlemyer ITT Telecommunications

I just can't believe that the ZX-81 has a printer that prints at 50 characters/second. I've seen the thing run and it can't barely print to the screen at that rate!
