From: rusty (Rusty Wright) in case you weren't aware of it the area code for san diego county, imperial county, parts of santa barbara county, palm springs and the desert area around it had its area code changed from 714 to 619 on 1 nov. 1982. the machines that i know of that this affected are the UCSD ones (sdcarl, sdcsvax, etc.).
