We were quite startled to notice (by reading the most recent set of maps posted by the Hortons to net.news.map) the large number of news sites in Western Canada. We were further surprised to realize that all of these sites are fed through uw-beaver! Be that as it may, we've installed an experimental news feed between uw-beaver and cornell. We are presently exchanging net.all but if the volume of news causes trouble, we may have to cut back some. Those of you in Western Canada will consequently begin to receive some new news groups. We hope this feed will provide a backup for the existing link we have from microsoft (decvax!microsoft). Incidentally, the decvax!microsoft feed has been on the fritz for about a week now. Microsoft tells us that decvax accepts items from them but never has anything to send to them in return. Can anyone provide details on what the problem is?
