Well, it appears that the new Usenet backbone is acceptable to everyone (at least, to everyone I've heard from - I still haven't heard from UCSD; I suspect we have a mail problem), so would all sites on the backbone please go ahead and set up the connections? Also please drop me a note when you do so I'll have an idea how it's going. Whatever you do, be sure you don't drop an existing connection until you have confirmed that they will still get news from somewhere else, and that their alternate link is currently working. We don't want to shut anybody off from news, even for a short period of time. Mark Horton
