Sometime within the next 60 days the Electronic Power Systems Laboratories (5242, 5248 and 5249) will be transferred from Whippany N.J. to Parsippany. Effective then our two VAX 11/780's will be renamed "NARYA" and "VILYA." Our official Bell Labs Network (RJE) names will be "PKEPS1" and "PKEPS2," for Parsippany (figure out how they got the PK) Electronic Power Systems. Our present name "WHEPS" will remain in service until the plug is pulled on the VAX in room 7C-008 at which time it will be retired with full honors. VILYA and NARYA are the names given two of the three elven rings of power in the book "Lord of the Rings." (We are also using NARNYA, but it won't be on the net.) We will notify network action control and our neighbors of the new uucp dialing sequence and passwords just before we move.
