To all sites that call us: our Gandalf PACX port selector is administered by another division of our organization, and they recently changed the banner messages without notifying us. That prevented uucp login sequences from succeeding, effectively blocking all incoming uucp traffic. Here are (4.3 uucp style) L.sys entries for hao: hao Any ACU 2400 3034940501 "" \d\r login: hao Any ACU 1200 3034997482 "" \d\r class: ha host... \d\d\d\r login: hao Any ACU 1200 3034940472 "" \d\r class: ha host... \d\d\d\r login: Notes: 1. '\d' means delay 1 second; '\r' means send a carraige return 2. The 2400 baud number is a 4-line rotary of Microcom error-correcting modems. The 7482 1200 baud number is an 8-line rotary of Vadic triple modems; the 0472 is a 12-line rotary of Vadic triples. 3. The login password info has been deleted here -- continue to use what you had before. If any site continues to have problems contacting us, please contact me. -- --peter gross UUCP: {hplabs, seismo}!hao!pag CSNET: pag@ncar.csnet ARPA: pag%ncar@csnet-relay.arpa
