The Georgia Tech gateway site "gatech" will be unavailable for user logins from approximately 8am Tuesday, March 26 until noon Wednesday, March 27. During this time, mail and news will still be transferred. Starting Wednesday morning, we will be installing the 4.2 BSD/BRL release on "gatech". We expect to be finished with this installation sometime on Friday, March 29. However, mail and news traffic may be unreliable for a few days afterwards until we get everything settled in. News and mail to and from the following Georgia Tech sites will definitely be affected: gatech, gitpyr, gt-stratus, gt-nimbus, gt-cirrus, gt-cmmsr, gt-fido, gtss, gtqo Mail to and from the following sites will probably be affected; it is suggested that alternate routes (viz., through akgua) be used for the next week: dcc1, dcc2, emory, fba, ga-ast, gacsr, galbp, ganehd, itm, medstar, msdc, sysd, vctvax Other sites connecting to gatech may also be affected. Site "gatech" will be going down at 6pm, Thursday September 11 for the installation of 4.3 BSD. The system will be back whenever we can manage it. We're asking our neighbors to hold our mail for a day or two until we are sure everything is working okay. Therefore, you may wish to route mail around us until next week. -- Gene Spafford Software Engineering Research Center (SERC), Georgia Tech, Atlanta GA 30332 CSNet: Spaf @ GATech ARPA: Spaf@Gatech.GATECH.EDU uucp: ...!{akgua,decvax,hplabs,ihnp4,linus,seismo,ulysses}!gatech!spaf
