[net.lang] Clarification on Honeywell

(I know this isn't quite the right group, but the original message was in
here) Calling DTSS a "native" Honeywell OS is misleading, as DTSS was
written at Dartmouth College with no assistance from Honeywell. Or, to
be more precise about it, DTSS was begun when General Electric was still
making computers; it was originally intended to be a joint project, but
GE had a management shakeup and the new head honchos didn't believe that
"those college kids" could produce anything decent. ("Those college kids"
produced an OS a hell of a lot better than GCOS...)

Multics is a Honeywell product (though begun with G.E. and Bell Labs)
and was (and is being) written in PL/1. It is, by far, Honeywell's best
OS.
