[net.lang] Re what intro-programming books do you like?

I am rather partial to books by Dyck, Lawson, and Smith.
Thier first effort was "Introduction to Computing,
Structured Problem Solving Using WATFIV-S", and they
have followed it by others using Pascal and ???.
As a first book, I think it is fantastic. They cover
a wide range of topics, including area, root finding,
statistics, linear equations, plotting, and so on,
and have an *excellent* programming style.
