Version 5 of Icon is now available for VAX/VMS. VMS Icon was developed by Bob Goldberg with support from Datalogics, Inc. and is being distributed by the University of Arizona. VMS Icon does not include the Icon compiler; it consists of only the interpretive system. The distribution includes executable files, object modules, sample programs, and the procedures from the Icon book. The executable files were produced on Version 3.2 of VMS. Those with VAX-11 C should be able to rebuild Icon from the object modules should the executable files should happen to not work on a particular version of VMS. We do not have the facilities to rebuild the system and thus, it is being distributed on "as-is" basis, i.e., if problems are encountered, it may not be possible for us to provide a solution to them. To obtain a copy of the system, specify the following where applicable: Your Name Address Organization Telephone Network Address Desired tape density (800 or 1600 bpi) and send a tape at least 600 feet long (or check/money order for $15 payable to The University of Arizona) to: Icon Project Department of Computer Science The University of Arizona Tucson, AZ 85721 If you have any questions, please direct them to: icon-project.arizona@rand-relay -or- {ihnp4,kpno,mcnc,utah-cs}!arizona!icon-project Bill Mitchell
