While Fortran and Cobol and Basic may have had their day, I suspect that the most popular "programming language", both in terms of number of "programs" and in terms of number of "lines" of code, is Visi-calc (or Multi-plan or *-calc or *-plan). While most of us may be willing to admit that the days of the "glass teletype" are over, we may not have really recognized the consequences of that change.
