Has anyone out there heard of a language designed for writing
such simulation games as SSI and Avalon Hill put out? Basically
your classic wargames. It would need to include methods for representing
terrain, objects on the terrain, determining line of sight between two
or more objects on the terrain, determining movement costs for a
particular unit depending on terrain, etc. Graphics routines to assist
in the display of such objects would be nice, as would dozens of other
features.
I sort of doubt that such a language exists, or at least it
does not exist in a form that the average person can get at and use.
Which leads to my second question: What would you like to see in
such a simulation language? What data structures would it have,
what functions?
Any sort of replies, no matter how far off the wall, would
be appreciated.
