[net.lang] BASIC for V7, 2.9

marquard@stolaf.UUCP (Dave Marquardt) (05/24/85)

Has anyone out there heard of any companies selling BASIC for 2.9BSD or V7?
HCR sells one, but a very nice honest salesperson told me that it probably
wouldn't suit our needs for portability (it's written in assembly language,
and very much tied to the PDP architecture). Thanks in advance for any
information.

Basic!! On a Unix System. Iiiirk!!!! I have bad enough time with
a bunch of civil engineers insisting on programming in Fortran on UNIX. But
Basic?? I always thought UNIX and C were intertwined for eternity. Please
excuse me while I take a couple trips to the bathroom.
