Question on Mutual Funds.
Could anyone explain the reasons small time investors invest in
_l_o_a_d mutual funds? With so many no-load funds around I can't
see any advantages in load funds. Any information that I've seen
states that, in general, there are no performance differences between
loads and no-loads sooo what do people see in 'em?
Also,
Does anyone know any stock no-load mutual funds that concentrate
on high-tech stocks or higher return/higher risk stocks? I'm aware
of two:
Energy fund -investing in what else?- energy stocks.
Founders Special Fund -has a goal of higher than
normal return at a higher risk.
As of performance - I've invested in these funds and others
for < 3 years and hope they do better in the long run than they've
done in last year or two. The general economic chaos has kept them
down. Founders hasn't done that bad but the Energy fund has been
quite disappointing.
