dean (01/29/83)
I have received several requests for the address of this organization,
so I am posting it to the net.
Quoting from the AAII Journal: "The American Association of Individual
Investors is an independent, non-profit corporation formed for the
purpose of assisting individuals in becoming effective managers of
their own assets through programs of education, information, and research."
Annual Membership in AAII is $39.00. This gets you the AAII Journal (10
issues per year), the annual issue of the Individual Investor's Guide to
No-Load Mutual Funds (publ. every August), and information about a variety
of educational materials. It also gets you subscription discounts to Forbes
and Business Week (at least). There is also a bimonthly "Computerized
Investing" newsletter, which costs an extra $22.00/yr. (I haven't tried
this one).
The current issue (January) has an interview with Mark K. Tavel,
Vice-President, Director of Research and Director of Portfolio Management
for Value Line, an article on "Selecting a Real Estate Limited Partnership",
the third part in an Investor Workshop on Financial Statement Analysis,
and various other articles.
They can be reached at:
American Association of Individual Investors
612 N. Michigan Ave. Suite 317
Chicago, IL 60611
(312) 280-0170
I have only been a member for about 6 months, but it has seemed pretty
valuable to me, a very novice investor.
