Their 1 quarter loss was $100 million! This is entirely from home computers! Part of this is due to the fact that by the time the 99/2 (no color, crummy keyboard version of 99/4) was ready for sale at $99, the 99/4 was already $99. But the major loss is in selling 99/4 so low. I don't know if they led the home computer prices down or if Commodore forced them down, but I believe Commodore is still making money. TI will certainly survive and profit, but this loss is big. As far as the rest of the market goes, I'm staying out for now - it's too frothy. Options are my favorite game and with a market like this you usually get killed either way (unless you're rich and smarter than me). Still, plenty of our local high tech companies look good. Just heard this morning that Televideo dropped $10 in the last week on no news. They are certainly doing well and it sounds appealing at $27. Glenn Nelson, Ampex, Redwood City, CA
