[Please ignore the keywords; I'm just doing my duty as a Jammer] Prince's new album, "Around the World in a Day", was released just yesterday. My roommate, being a major Prince fan, went right out and bought it for a ludicrous price he didn't want to discuss. Our listening to the album (I'm a lukewarm Prince listener myself) confirmed what we had read elsewhere (in USA Today?)...Prince has gone "psychedelic". Lots of the music on this album is totally different from what one might have expected, given "Purple Rain". And much of it is quite mellow; an excellent example would be "Condition of the Heart" on the first side. But here's what *I* found most surprising; in the last song on the second side, "Temptation", Prince actually preaches *against* lust and sex! Now who would have expected that from Prince? Anyway, it's a good album, but don't rush out and buy it unless you want to spend ~$9.00 right off. Wait for a sale or something. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: G. T. Samson Quote: "No matter where you go...there you are." -- B.
