[net.invest] gold

. .. ... Bits for the buggy machine's bit bucket.

I'm long term bullish on gold, and short-term wishy washy.
I think silver might be a better long term investment, but
at a slightly lower price.

I received some literature from this company called Gold Standard
Corporation (1600 Genessee, Kansas City MO 64102 tel. 816-via-gold and
1-800-821-5648). They make a market in certain gold coins that I
assume they get privately minted. For some, the harwood ounce, they
set the ask at gold spot+5% and the buy at gold spot+3% which seems
to me to be a reasonable commission. However, they also have an
interchangeable series featuring the freidman ounce which they
claim they buy and sell at face value. I don't understand how they
can do this and make a profit. Does anyone have any positive or
negative experiences with this company?
