[net.invest] Stock based IRA - How do I do it?

I have decided to open an IRA with a purchase of common stock.
The problem is that I have no idea how this is done.  Does anyone
know the facts, or can you direct me to the appropriate literature
or institutions?  Many thanks in advance.
