I have been in this country only for a relatively short time, and would appreciate learning from members of our "net.invest" community on your experience with stock brokers and futures brokers here. I am looking for a discount broker for the stock market and one for the futures market. The most important things to me are safety and protection for my account (against broker firm failure, fraud...), and efficiency in executing and reporting orders. I am not looking for much advice or recommendation service... 1. Account Protection: Is there any Industry Standard for insurance, or other form of protection for assets in your account, that I must make sure that the broker does have? 2. Commission Fee schedules: I am interested in learning the typical commission fees charged by discount brokers for both the stock market and the futures market... 3. Any specific recommendation for a good broker, along with comments on your satisfaction with your broker for: - efficiency of executing orders - promptness of confirming executed orders - quality and accuracy of account statements Thanks in advance for your advice.
