Well, it's all good news on my pending battle with my credit union over their refusal to cancel an automatic deduction I had authorized to an insurance company. I had written asking for a formal statement, in writing, from an officer, stating that although they had received my notice that future withdrawls from my account were no longer authorized, they intended to refuse to let me cancel the authorization and intended to honor the drafts despite my instructions not to do so. I first received a very polite letter saying that they were looking into the possibility of a refund of the amount deducted after I told them to stop, a promise to stop any future such drafts, and thanking me for my patience. Two days later, I received a notice of a credit to my account for the amount of the disputed deduction. Thanks to all who sent advice and/or messages of sympathy. FROM: Brian G.
