[net.sport.hockey] Changes in CC/WCHA

I missed a few days on this group, and wondered if I missed a discussion
or even a notice that Michigan Tech and Northern Mich U were moving
to the WCHA. The way Don Canham (multi-millionaire AD at UMich) was
grousing, I guess it is true.

I personally am more a fan of the WCHA over the CCHA. A facet of the
move involves interlocking scheduling between the WCHA and
the 8 team Eastern conference (memory lapse here). Tech and NMU were
having trouble recruiting, attracting fans, etc. although some people
say that the move will put a strian on hockey budgets. We'll see.

nodaks!

Paul (a real yoop) Killey:

When North Dakota was at the bottom of the WCHA, nobody cared about
them; much less liked or disliked them. It warms my heart to have
someone dislike them because I know that most people now also have
a great respect for their hockey prowess. The Sioux have waited a
long time for this and I hope their ship stays in port for a long,
long time. From a Sioux view, I can't think of a team I dislike,
even Minnesota or Wisconsin. In fact, I like both schools. There
was one particular WCHA player I didn't like - Dave Feamster - but
he since has graduated. As far as cheapness goes, Minnesota is leading
the league this year - watch young Michelleti. UND vs. Minnesota
this weekend!
