Right! Let's talk about the ECAC!

But seriously, about the NNHL: Nothing that I've seen so far this year
has led me to believe that anyone but the Islanders will win the Stanley Cup
this year. The Islanders have a fine balanced team this year,
with the league's third best offense (after Edmonton and Quebec)
and second best defense (after Boston). Edmonton and Boston are the only
other challengers that I can see, but the Islanders have shown that they
can beat Edmonton, and Boston is talented but young and not very deep,
and this will wear them down when they finish at the top of the tough
Adams division at the end of the regular season and then try to get by
Buffalo, Quebec, and Montreal in the playoffs. Besides, the Islanders have a
special goal, and this will keep them going through the season and the
playoffs, and perhaps even to a record sixth cup.

Oops...what I meant to say is that the Islanders have a special goal that
will carry them through the regular season, the playoffs, and perhaps to
a record sixth consecutive Stanley Cup *next year*, so no flames about my
hockey knowledge, please.

1984 is the year of the Islander. Let's here it for the first American team
winning 5 consecutive Stanley Cups and only the second team to ever win
that many.

American Team? The Islanders? The only American I know on the
Islanders is Ken Morrow. How do you come off calling them an
American team?

Phooey on American chauvinism and the Islanders being an ``Amerian'' team.
Where would they be without Trottier, Bossy, Potvin, Gilles, etc., who are
all Canadian. American's should stick to football.
