Michigan State 2. Duluth North Dakota Bowling Green (both wild-cards, don't know order) East 1. RPI 2. Boston University 3. Clarkson 4. Boston College <FLAME> How the hell can Duluth, the WCHA regular season AND playoff champions, who have lost ONE game since Jan.1, have annihilated Wisconsin and North Dakota (9-0 and 8-1) the last two weekends, be ranked behind Michigan State, who couldn't even win the CCHA? Oh well, the CCHA will wither and die anyway in the next few years now that Northern and Tech. are joining the WCHA, which is playing against the Eastern super-league

It is ever so evident again this year that Easterners are biased ever so strongly toward their own. That is why the WCHA championship is more prestigious than the NCAA championship. If it was up to me and I was in the WCHA I'd boycott the NCAA playoffs. If I was RPI, facing UND in the first round, I'd be upset. Minnesota is probably steaming and rightfully so. I guess the Easterners on the selection committee just didn't want to send three WCHA teams to the NCAAs and admit the fact that at least half the teams in one association were superior to ~90% of the Eastern teams. Maybe forced bussing is the solution! Predictions: Duluth over Clarkson RPI toss-up UND BU over BG BC over MSU Note: A hot goalie will make any prediction weak.
