I'm sorry, but the Chicago Blackhawks are going to win the Stanley Cup this year! Islander's beware.

I finally had a chance to see a game in the Islanders-Rangers series yesterday (Friday). Were all the games like that? Compared to the Oilers, the play reminded me of a table hockey game: players moving back and forth along predetermined paths. The passing was so bad that often the puck would skitter away and not be touched by anybody for a full three or four seconds. The only exciting player on the ice was Duguay. If the Oilers can stand a little rough going -- and I think they can -- the team they meet in the final is going to be crushed by their skating, passing, and playmaking. THE ISLAND HAS SUNK The Drive For Five has taken a dive. And The Run For One is done. The Edmonton Oilers have done it, at last. And they did it in a way hockey fans are not likely to forget for a long time. Starting the series as underdogs, the Oilers completely outplayed the "invincible" Islanders in all the areas of the game. With scores like 7-2,5-2 the Oilers made the Islanders look like a minor league team. And when, finally the "unbeatable" Billy Smith, the key player in the Islanders team, was recalled to the bench in the second period of the fifth game, the humiliation was total and complete. And so, a great era has ended and perhaps, another one has just begun.
