[net.sport.hockey] Sauer considered harmful

[]
	Since leaving Madison in '82, I've been limited to 1 or 2
UW hockey games a year. I went and saw UW lose, and lose badly
to Bx (x element {C,U}) at the start of January.
	I know this sounds like the typical old-fogey alum bitching,
but I have *never* seen a UW team look so second-rate,
and I saw UW hockey games almost every week from 1972 to 1982.
Even when they play well, they no longer have that authority and
class that used to come so naturally.
	The game I attended, fans were leaving at the end of the second
period, which *never* used to happen! They didn't even sell out!
	What's the difference? To me, the answer *has* to be Sauer;
after his first year, UW hockey has gone steadily downhill.
	When at UW, we always prayed that UM wouldn't fire Beutow;
as long as he's their coach, we have nothing to fear.
It looks like Sauer may be equally bad; I don't think UW hockey will be
first-rate again until they fire the bum.

	Get rid of Sauer, and hire Comley!
