Cornell just extended it's winning streak to 8 in a row with a weekend series hosting St. Lawrence and Clarkson. The Big Red (how many teams are called Big Red?) have been undefeated at home, despite some rather lack- luster officiating. Robert Kupka is one of the worst ref's I've seen in the ECAC. Upon numerous occasions, obvious trips, slashes, hooks, et cetera were committed, and he was either looking elsewhere, or down at the ice!!! I observed three occasions where a penalty should have been called which was committed right by the puck, yet Mr. Kupka was not watching. Not only does this take away opportunities, both in a potential power play, and also in the play that was perhaps broken up by an illegal check, but this encourages the players to retailiate themselves, leading to fights, or penalties charged against the player answering a slash/hooking attack with perhaps a cross-check. Is there anything we can do to try to get better officiating? ____________________________________________________________________________ Michael Mc Namara ..decvax!cornell!tesla!mac Cornell University ..look for ohm (Data General running U**X)soon!
