A Sabres fan laments: Well, that's it. The end of the 1984-85 season for the Buffalo Sabres. What happened Tuesday night? Why can't the Sabres win in Le Colisee? They did so well this past weekend, at the home games. But they just can't win on Quebec's home ice. It's just like the Spectrum "jinx" 10 years ago. Why else could they have blown a 5-3 lead? And in the last six minutes of the game?? Actually, the Sabres did better than I expected. I thought it would be a clean sweep, like last year, or the Sabres would win one game. But to go to game 5 -- wow, maybe we can do it this year! (Or so I thought.) I was getting down-hearted after their performance during the Montreal game on April 7 -- did they really care to get second place? There were a few small mistakes that were made, that the Nordiques were able to capitalize on, such as the offsides call during the Sabres' last rush (what a letdown). And there were some things that Quebec did wrong that we took advantage of (our first power-play goal during the series -- whoopee). Oh well. Better luck next year. Grab a ringside seat, folks, it's fight night at the Forum again! :-) -- "Now we're gonna see what you know in the way of languages and packages. How good are you at SPSS? Are you proficient in C? How's your FORTRAN? Have you worked with IMSL? Do you know Kimball?"
