[net.sport.hockey] Question for Division 1 schools.

steve@umd-cs.uucp (Steven M. Miller) (09/26/85)

UMD is coming off of several highly successful seasons and demand is
growing sharply for Season Tickets to see the 'Dogs. I think that
some of their new rules are ridiculous, but before I complain too
much, I'd like to have some idea how ticket sales are handled at
other schools.

I have several questions I'd appreciate getting some answers to.

	1. How many tickets can a single person buy?
	2. Are the rules different for students, faculty and the public?
	3. What percentage of all seats are sold to the public?

Here at UMD, students are only allowed one ticket each. We can't purchase
additional (season tickets) so we can take our girlfriends, wives etc with
us to the games. (We can get 'guest tickets' for individual games, but
our guest gets to sit somewhere else!). What really erks me is that
over 60% of the tickets are sold to the general public and they can buy
at least two seats (I know people who have as many as 6).

Maybe it's worse at other schools, maybe season tickets aren't even available,
but I'd very much appreciate some responses.

		thanx much,

		Steve.
