Thought that these might be interesting to post. Here are the latest rankings of CIAU hockey teams (as of November 26). Last week's ranking is in parentheses. 1. Alberta ( 1) 2. Moncton ( 3) 3. Ottawa ( 2) 4. Wilfrid Laurier ( 7) 5. Waterloo ( 6) 6. PEI ( 4) 7. York (10) 8. Trois Rivieres ( 8) 9. Saskatchewan ( 5) 10. Dalhousie (NR) The OUAA is shaping up to be a real battle this season. Waterloo, Laurier and York are all tied for first place with 15 points (Laurier has two games in hand), and there are a handful of teams with between 10 and 12 points and a game in hand right behind. There's a nice rivalry shaping up between Waterloo and Laurier (good to see, since Laurier is just about a kilometre down the street from here). The only problem is that Waterloo's all-star goaltender, Peter Crouse, is injured and the team is hoping he'll be better after Christmas. York, Toronto, Laurier and Western have been playing in various tournaments around the continent. All but Toronto have turned in good performances, but the Blues aren't used to losing at hockey. Look for Toronto and Western to move up in the standings (and rankings) in the new year. Does anyone know what's happening in the AUAA, QUAA, GPAC and Canada West leagues? dwarf -- "Degeneracy is not necessarily a bad thing." mathNEWS--the math student newspaper at the University of Waterloo {allegra|clyde|linus|ihnp4|decvax}!watmath!watdcsu!mathnews UUCP mathnews%watdcsu@waterloo.csnet CSNET mathnews@watdcsu NETNORTH
