Can someone tell me something abut the John Tonelli trade? I know that it was time for the Islanders to shake the team up with a trade, but why Tonelli? Did the Islanders get good value with the two Calgary players (Kromm and Konroyd)? Wayne Citrin (ucbvax!citrin)

The Tonelli deal was motivated by one factor: Tonelli and GM Bill Torrey got into a long, dirty contract squabble at the start of the season. I had hoped that Torrey would be big enough to forget it.
